AFCON Final Cracker: How Eagles Should Play – Finidi George

Finidi George is one of the heroes of the revolution Clemens Westerhof launched in Nigerian football, a tremendous effort that saw Nigeria rank the 5th best football country in the world. It was a feat many doubt if it can ever be achieved again in this millennium. Speaking in his house in Spain and Finidi shared his thoughts of the two teams, adviced to the Eagles and explained what it feels like playing in a cup final of this nature.
He said the following:
“I’m excited about the performance of Stephen Keshi and his team. Sometimes, it is good to enter a tournament as underdogs. It reduces the pressure on you. We have a good team and we should be able to win. I’m particularly hoping that we win so that our authorities can begin to respect indigenous coaches. Our people easily fall for European coaches. And most times they hire the ones who are not better than our coaches.
“The only difference is the skin and that’s what they respect. I’m not condemning foreign coaches but we appear to generally have complex and we go for any white man in the name of foreign coach. What Keshi is doing now is good. Even if he is no longer there in Nigeria, his success can open the door for other indigenous coaches who should be inspired by the success he has achieved so far and begin to work hard.
“When you give somebody a national team coaching job, give him about four to five years to perform. If at the end of this period it is clear that he is not performing, you can then disengage him. But it is not so for our people. They sack under one year.
“We’ll not develop that way. I want Keshi to win so that some people can shut up and respect indigenous coaches and encourage them to succeed. We should learn from our mistakes and move on. On the match against Burkina Faso, we will be playing against a team that can run for 90 minutes and they are not tired.
“They are physically strong, very strong players. I think that what we can do is to pass the ball around. Let the ball run and let Burkina players chase the ball. We must not go into duels with them because of their physical nature. Let the ball do the running. We pass, look for space and attack it. We should try to score and lead well just like we did against Mali. We need to play the way we played our last two matches. If we do, we will win the cup.
“The atmosphere is always electric on cup final days. We didn’t enter the competition as favourites and we marched on to the final where some people now feel we are favourites. We should handle the pressure well and remember that we went in as underdogs. We should not, therefore, be carried away.
“You play in a cup final to win. No second chance. You must do more than playing. You fight as a team too. The fighting spirit must be there. You must fight on till the referee’s last whistle. I think that we can win the cup and that will make not only our day but also our year.”

Comedian, Julius Agwu Can Be Annoying —Wife

Julius Agwu, a comedian/musician, has been married to his wife, Ibiere for five years. The marriage is blessed with a daughter, Zahra.
photo
They talk about their marriage in this interview.
You have been married for five years. How has the journey been like?
Ibiere: It has been good.
How did you meet?
Julius: We met at a wedding in year 2000; she was part of the bridal train. Incidentally, Okey Bakassi and I were the comperes at the event, and both of us competed on who would be the first to ask her out. I made the first move but she was too little, she was underage.
Ibiere (cuts in): I was 18, I was not underage.
Julius Agwu: Well, she was 18 but she was a baby. I just saw one beautiful girl. I was smarter, I was faster, and I was able to get her contact.
We became friends but she started putting up an attitude whenever I tried reaching her. At a point, I called her bluff and wondered who she was. In fact, I forgot about her.
Ibiere, why did you put up an attitude?
Ibiere: I was not putting up any attitude, I just concentrated on my books, then, I was in my first year in the university.
Was your attitude as a result of his profession as a comedian?
Ibiere:  The  fact that he is a comedian had nothing to do with my decision, I wasn’t just interested.
So, at what point did you change your mind and show interest?
Ibiere:  After the first meeting, we lost contact for two years; we met later and became friends.
When you met her later, what was your reaction?
Julius:  I met her two years later in 2002 when I lost my father. I was very angry because  at that period, my career was just kicking off. The day he died, I went to Chioba, my village to settle his hospital bills.
On getting there, I saw a crowd of mourners at our gate. I was so angry that I made up my mind to drink myself to stupor. I went to a town in Port Harcourt to have drinks with some friends who had come to commiserate with me. When I left our table for the toilet, I ran into her on the corridor.  She informed me that it was the eve of her birthday and she had come out for some drinks with her friends.
I informed her that I had just lost my father. We moved from there to another club and since it was her birthday, I decided to buy drinks for everybody.  After all the money I spent at the club, they wanted to leave. So, I asked her, “are you leaving without even giving me a kiss?”  She said, for what?’ I realised she was still putting up an attitude and that got me very angry. This was in addition to the fact that I was tipsy. Again, I called her bluff.
During my father’s burial, she came, but she was still a baby because she still had her curfew and she was not supposed to stay out late.  But I was impressed that she made out time to visit me.
At what point did it occur to you that he might propose?
Ibiere:  At no point, when he proposed, I was not actually thinking about marriage because I had just graduated and was not even thinking of marriage.
But Julius, do you agree that part of this attraction could be the fact that she was not really interested?
Julius: One thing about me is that I like to have my way. I have always had my way and she posed a challenge for me through her lack of interest.  But I did not just see a beautiful girl, I saw someone who was intelligent and stern. She was principled from the outset. She is actually my greatest critic.
Since he is a jovial person and makes money out of telling jokes, are there times you expect him to be serious about some issues and he is not?
Ibiere: He knows when I want him to be serious and he sees it on my face. Most times, I don’t even need to say anything, I just look at him and he knows I mean business. Also, I know when he is serious. When I see his facial expression I know.
His job entails a lot of publicity. How do you deal with that especially being with him almost at every event?
Ibiere: I am always with him but I am not in the public glare because I don’t bring myself out there to be seen. I am always in the background.
Do you laugh at his jokes when he is on stage?
Ibiere: If it is funny I laugh, if it is not I don’t laugh.
You must really enjoy his jovial nature?
Ibiere: He could be very annoying; forget all these things he does on stage. He gets me annoyed.
At home?
Ibiere: Not even at home.
What does he do to annoy you?
(At this point, the couple stared hard at each other).
Ibiere: What does he do to annoy me? Hmm… I don’t want to go there.
Julius: Go there now.
What does she do to make you angry?
Julius: She is an introvert; most times I am the one who would ask, ‘are you okay? What is the problem?’ She would just keep to herself and that really gets at me.
Sometimes, I would expect her to ask me how I am faring but she never does. Though I like the fact that she really doesn’t have friends; but I still don’t like the way she treats me.  Before we got married she would ask me, ‘baby, have you eaten? Try and eat something please.’
Since we got married, she has not bothered to ask me if I have eaten! These days, I have to beg her to ask me if I have eaten.
Is this true?
Ibiere: No. It is not true.
When was the last time you asked him if he had eaten?
Ibiere: I asked him day before yesterday.
Julius:  When was the last time before the day before yesterday?
How do you settle fights?
Ibiere: We fight until one of us is tired; usually he is the one who gets tired first.
Is it true?
Julius: It is true. The kind of job I do is to give laughter and joy. So, each time we quarrel, I don’t feel comfortable, I can’t claim to give people joy when I am not happy.  I thought I was an expert at keeping malice. until I met her.
Ibiere: You are worse than me. I might not be happy but if I am angry, I can still talk to him but if he is angry, he can go on and would not even say a word to anybody.
Has your bond grown stronger?
Both: Yes it has. Funny enough it has.
What has kept your marriage?
Julius: We just decided that we would not engage in stupid quarrels.
Ibiere: Before the situation gets to the stage of quarrelling, we speak about our feelings instead of bottling up issues.

98% Of Federal Pensioners Are Unpaid — FCP

There appears no respite yet for federal pensioners, as about 98 per cent of them have been reportedly denied monthly stipends for three months.
photo
The Lagos State Coordinator, Federal Concerned Pensioners, Mr. David Adodo, stated this in interview with our correspondent in Lagos.
He said the affected pensioners had either been seriously underpaid, or totally denied their pensions since November last year.
This is coming barely a week after about 50 federal pensioners in Abuja protested against what they described as unholy manner with which the OHCSF was interfering in their pensions.
The protesters had suggested that the Pension Reform Task Team headed by Alhaji Abdulrasheed Maina be ordered to resume payment of their pensions from January 2013 “without further delay.”
The Head of Service was directed to take over the payment of the pensions in November last year following reports that the Pension Reform Task Force could not substantiate allegation of fraud against pension thieves and persistent complaints of irregularities by the pensioners.
Adodo said, “Since November, 98 per cent of our members are either seriously underpaid, or totally denied their pensions.”
He recalled that the Pension Reform Task Force was established in 2010 because the office of the Head of Service, which used to handle the pension payment, subjected pensioners to hardship.
He, therefore, urged the Federal Government to establish an independent competent body to handle the pensions.
He said, “The President should stop the Head of Civil Service of the Federation from further interfering in pensioners’ money. We were denied our pensions in November and December 2012. We did the Christmas and New Year in hunger. Many of us can’t eat well or pay for our medications.”
Adodo also said that the Federal Government should institutionalise the pension reform, take the gains and database of the PRT and provide a civilian pension board or Ministry of Pension Affairs, to solve the problem.
Some of the pensioners, who spoke to our correspondent at a pension meeting in Lagos during the week, listed some of their problems as underpayment of pensions, outright denial of pensions, omission of their names from the payroll and default in gratuity.
A pensioner, Mr. Arashi Lawal, alleged that there was power tussle between the PRT and the Head of Service, which was preventing them from working in a coordinated manner to solve pensioners’ problems.
He said, “How can you put two captains in a ship? See what is happening to pensioners, November and December monthly pensions are unpaid, many of our members have not been paid. The PRT and the HOS are both responsible for our pensions. We don’t know who is serving us and pensioners are dying.”
But the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Alhaji Isa Bello-Sali, had denied underpaying any pensioners on their pay-roll.
He also said all the pensioners were fully paid their pensions for November and December 2012 and advised those with genuine complaints to forward them to the Pensions Office in the OHCSF or their state councils of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners.
The Information and Media Relations Officer, PRT, Mr. Hassan Salihu, said that for now, the duty of paying pensioners had been taken over by the OHCSF.
The Director, Press and Public Relations, OHCSF, Mr. Tope Ajakaiye, said, “The OHCSF took over the payment of monthly pensions in November 2012 in line with the new Federal Government’s policy on public financial management reform and the new Government Integrated Financial Management Information System being implemented through the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation.”

Pope Questions Faith Following God’s Continued Failure To Smite Chris Brown

Despite being the alleged perpetrator of a litany of heinous – often violent – crimes and otherwise reprehensible acts, R&B star Chris Brown has remained completely unpunished by God, causing Pope Benedict XVI to question his religious beliefs.
His Holiness had retained his faith through many excruciating events in his life, including involuntary conscription into the Hitler Youth as a young boy growing up in 1940s Germany, but seeing Brown continue his musical career unhindered by any holy smiting has caused him to question his Catholicism. “I cannot, in good conscience, stand before you and assert God’s heavenly justice and love,” said the pope, addressing a crowd of thousands gathered below his Vatican balcony for Sunday Mass. “... so long as Chris Brown goes on in this world without being struck by lightning or swallowed by the Earth.”
Pope Benedict has reportedly tried every method available to shore up his once-steadfast faith, even turning to self-flagellation in a moment of desperation. “All I did was suffer more than that rat bastard ever did for beating up Rihanna,” said the Supreme Pontiff. “Did you see those pictures!? That was brutal! How does a just God allow that to happen?” Brown, whose abhorrent behavior has included his notorious bludgeoning of pop star Rihanna, dressing up like an al-Qaeda terrorist for Halloween and assaulting beloved R&B singer Frank Ocean over a parking space, has remained defiant and unrepentant for his alleged actions.
Yet, Brown’s offensive conduct has failed to land him in jail or invite the wrath of an angry God, at the most only resulting in peripheral sniping from Internet commenters. “Haters can keep hating. Now I know how Jesus felt,” said Brown, somehow not spontaneously combusting on the spot. His actions, as well as their inability to attract any sort of divine retribution, have confounded Pope Benedict, who seems more troubled with every second Brown is not swarmed by a plague of locusts. “I don’t get it. This guy should be a fucking pillar of salt by now,” said the pope, then turning toward the sky. “
With his faith shaken to its core, he told supporters and fellow Catholics that he would ask them to pray for him, but that it would be like mice squeaking into an infinite void. Pope Benedict later emerged from days of solitary reflection to announce that he would be renouncing the papacy. “I must utilize my time left on this pitiless rock to do something meaningful,” said the former Bishop of Rome and Vicar of Jesus Christ. “I must do what needs to be done: smite Chris Brown. Call it doing God’s work.”

Mom Passed Son Drugs During French Kiss

Kimberly Margeson passed Oxycodone painkillers to her son in an overly familiar kiss goodbye during a recent visit. Now she may be keeping him company behind bars.
Mom Passed Son Drugs During French Kiss
Kimberly Margeson, 54, transferred two strong painkiller pills from her mouth to William Partridge's mouth while visiting him in a New York jail, prosecutors claim. Police did not indicate whether tongues were involved in the alleged exchange on Tuesday last week.
According to a Yates County Sheriff's Department report, Margeson put the Oxycodone pills into her mouth and brought them into the jail when she visited her son, who was being held after a weapons arrest. She then passed two pills "from her mouth to her son's mouth when she kissed him," the report said. The drugs were intended for Partridge’s personal use and not resale.
Mom Passed Son Drugs During French Kiss
Margeson reportedly smuggled two pills of Oxycodone, a painkiller similar to morphine
Margeson was arrested and charged with a felony drug count and a misdemeanor count of promoting prison contraband. She pleaded not guilty to the two charges in Town Court and was released on a $2,000 bail. Partridge, 30, who remains jailed, was charged with a misdemeanor count of promoting prison contraband and will be arraigned on Monday.
Oxycodone is an opioid narcotic pain reliever similar to morphine which is used to treat moderate to severe pain.

The Lover Boy Part 1

He was late and he knew it. This was the first time and he couldn’t believe he had allowed himself to over sleep. With his ears plugged in he walked briskly to class.
He smiled to himself ‘he would see her today’ he thought and today he would finally tell her how he feels. He really liked her. The way she smiles, talks, walks and even the way she writes.
Weird?... Yeah he knew.
He had tried so many times to get her attention, just to have a reason to say something to her, to get her to talk to him not his friends. He said hi to her friends at various occasions on purpose just to get a chance to say hi to her but she never looked at him. It was like she never noticed he was there. She always had her ears plugged, paying no attention what-so-ever to the world.
He always asked after her but never directly. His friends knew how much he liked her but he made them swear they would never tell anyone who-so-ever. He bought things for her but never delivered them, wrote letters, poems and stories but never gave them to her. He drew pictures and took pictures of her, keeping all hidden from everyone but himself. A times he would practise how he would talk to her, all the things he would say to her, the way he smile when he sees her and laugh if she said anything funny. He thought of how he would treat her if they were ever together, how he would make her feel. He made a promise he would always make her happy if he ever got the chance and always keep that cute smile of hers on her face forever. He knew she didn’t have a boyfriend but she had lots of ‘boy’ friends which sometimes scared him. They all looked like stiff competition if for any reason they were interested in her and if she was interested in anyone of them.
He was late......his mind reminded him bringing him back to reality. He walked faster now.
What would she think of him? Would she accept him? Would she laugh at him? Would she embarrass him?
‘No she wasn’t like that’ he told himself. She was too sweet to do something like that and she would never laugh at him, at least not in public. This wasn’t the first time these questions had popped up. For awhile now they had been popping up more frequently than usual.
He was almost there....
He went through everything he had planned to say to her in his head, editing and re-editing over and over. He entered the class scanning even without thinking for her. Where was she? He looked around for her cute face and amazing smile and then he saw her sitting alone at the back of the class. He stopped himself from smiling stupidly. ‘Was she ok?’ he asked himself. He was about to find out as he slowly walked in her direction....

                                                                                                                ........to be continued

Chris Brown Is At It Again…

The singer deleted his Instagram page yesterday night after being ruthless bashed online for comparing himself to Jesus in the wake of his fist fight with Frank Ocean. Remember he once deleted his twitter account and later re-opened it.
Chris posted the photo on the right yesterday after he was criticized for fighting Ocean. He felt he was being crucified and judged like Jesus. The insults that followed after he posted the photo was too much for him and he deleted all the photos on his Instagram page…but not before notifying his fans of his departure…
“I would like to thank all my wonderful fans for letting me express my talents/art for you all.But social media takes away the essence of why we are even special or icons. So with that, I’m detaching myself from that world.”
“Elevate yourself above the negative and if it doesn’t work move on! I respect myself enough as well as my fans to wanna be great!”

13 Year Old Chinese Boy Living And Sleeping With Python

A family from Dongguan, China, has recently made headlines after it became known that their 13-year-old son’s best friend is a 15-foot Burmese python. The predator even looks after the boy when his parents are away.
Most grownups would turn away and run for their lives at the sight of a 220lb python, but 13-year-old Azhe Liu can’t get enough of his slithering friend. Ever since he was just a few months old, the two have been sharing the same bed, and today they are simply inseparable.

Six years before Azhe was born, his father, Chen Liu, found a snake egg, brought it home and hatched it out. When the boy came, the python already weighed 20 kilograms, but having a snake around the house didn’t seem to bother the family. ”I’d always thought them the most beautiful creatures and I was interested to see what would happen when my son came along,” Chen says. ”After a while we were certain the snake wouldn’t hurt him and we began to leave them together alone. They really are inseparable.” Azhe and his Burmese python started sharing the same bed, and when he was just 9 months old, he was left alone with it, as the parents left to work. They would play and cuddle all day long, and during the hot summer months, the snake’s cold body acted as a natural air-conditioner.

Chen Liu says his boy has never really had an interest in other toys, and always prefers to spend his free time in the company of his python. They have spent every day and night together, and the father swears the snake has never once hurt Azhe. ”She’s very careful with me and never squeezes to hard,” the 13-year-old confirms. “If people understood animals more they’d be kinder to each other.” In 2012 Azhe had to go to school, and could only sleep at home on Saturdays, which made him really sad, but now he’s set a goal to become a zoologist when he grows up, so he can spend all his time with animal friends

Longest married couple

A Connecticut couple who tied the knot over 80 years ago will be named the longest married couple in the U.S.
John and Ann Betar of Fairfield, Conn., said “I do” on Nov. 25, 1932, and have been happily married for 80 years. Together they have five children, 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
The couple was selected for the 2013 award by Worldwide Marriage Encounter, a Christian marriage enrichment group based in San Bernardino, Calif., that organizes a search each year to promote the virtues of lasting marriages and inspire young couples.
“What an inspiration Mr. and Mrs. Betar are to all of us. They made a commitment to each other 80-plus years ago and they have kept that commitment over these many years. They truly are a sign of hope to us all,” Worldwide Marriage Encounter’s Ron and Judy Pekny said in a statement.
An award ceremony will take place on Saturday at the Fairfield, Conn., home of one of the Betars’ granddaughters, Heather Mitchell.
Before their 80th wedding anniversary in November, John and Ann Betar told ABC News that they considered themselves “blessed.”
“We are very fortunate. It can be repeated and repeated,” Ann, 97, said at the time. “It is unconditional love and understanding. We have had that. We consider it a blessing.”
Though the couple is hesitant to give out marriage advice, their secret to so many happy years together is simple: compromise and don’t hold a grudge.
John, 101, met Ann, now 97, while growing up in the same Syrian community in Bridgeport, Conn. Breaking with tradition, Ann defied her parents when they set up an arranged marriage for her. She ran off to Harrison, N.Y. to elope with John. Now, she says she knows she made the right choice.
The Betars said they delight in the newer generations of their family, and their descendants return the compliment.
“I’m always blown away by their incredible optimism, deep sense of compassion and modesty,” granddaughter Heather Mitchell said before their anniversary. “They are true beacons – inspirational people who emit such joy without even knowing it.”
The Betars were chosen out of hundreds of couples nominated during the project’s submission period, which ran from October of last year to January. There may be other couples who have been married longer in the U.S., but none was formally nominated, according to the group.

CBS Warns: No Bum, Boob Or Genital Exposure At The Upcoming Grammys

THE Grammys have slapped a ban on thongs, exposed nipples, bum crack, side and underboob and demanded the genital region must be covered at their forthcoming awards ceremony, according to a leaked email.
The communication gives a long list of rules and regulations for those attending the 55th Grammys on February 10, at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
The email reads:
Date: February 5, 2013, 10:39:56 PM EST
Subject: 55th GRAMMYS: Standard And Practice Wardrobe Advisory
-kindly confirm receipt of s&p standards-
***GRAMMYS 2013***
CBS Program Practices advises that all talent appearing on camera please adhere to Network policy concerning wardrobe.

Please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered. Thong type costumes are problematic. Please avoid exposing bare fleshy under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack. Bare sides or under curvature of the breasts is also problematic. Please avoid sheer see-through clothing that could possibly expose female breast nipples. Please be sure the genital region is adequately covered so that there is no visible “puffy” bare skin exposure. Please avoid commercial identification of actual brand name products on T-shirts. Foreign language on wardrobe will need to be cleared. OBSCENITY OR PARTIALLY SEEN OBSCENITY ON WARDROBE IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR BROADCAST. This as well, pertains to audience members that appear on camera. Finally, The Network requests that any organized cause visibly spelled out on talent’s wardrobe be avoided. This would include lapel pins or any other form of accessory.

Father Agrees To Pay Daughter $200 To Quit Facebook

Father and daughter Facebook contract (Courtesy of Paul Baier)
More and more people are taking a break from Facebook. But not many are getting $200 for the effort.
Count Rachel Baier in that exclusive group. The 14-year-old made a deal with her father, Paul. If Rachel stayed off of Facebook for five months, she’d find herself $200 richer.
To make sure everything was above board, a contract was signed by both parties. Rachel will get $50 if she resists the call of Facebook until mid-April. She’ll score $150 more if she makes it to June 26. She has given her father her password, which he has changed to prevent her from accessing her account. According to the contract, Rachel intends to use the proceeds for “stuff.”
We spoke with Paul Baier about the plan. It turns out, it was Rachel’s idea. “She mostly wanted and needed the money as she has been frustrated by not finding babysitting jobs. She is an honors student but she says Facebook can be distracting.”
Rachel originally asked for $70, but then, like an expert negotiator, she came back and asked for $200. “When she realized it would be for five months, she wanted an amount that would really excite her,” Paul explained.
Paul hopes this may start a trend. “I’ve realized that she is part of a generation of kids that has grown up on Facebook. She’s been on it for two years full time. This is two years of 24/7 teen discussion of friends, clothes, parties, etc. They can’t get away from it. I’m proud she recognized the benefit of a hiatus. She plans to go on using it after the contract ends.”
The contract expires on the last day of school. So far, she has no regrets.

TOUCHING STORY Of Victor Moses That Will Make You Cry (MUST READ)

This is the story of a young boy whose parents were murdered during 2002 riots in Kaduna. He was aged 11 years at the time. His parents, Mr Austine and Mrs Josephine Moses, were missionaries until they met their untimely death. The boy left his house to play football but returned home to see that all his parents had laboured for had been razed down and he would never see his mother and father again.
He was taken to London by his uncle almost immediately after the incident. While in London, he began deploying his football skills. Though his parents were murdered, his passion for football was never killed. He played football for his school and later for a local Tandrige League club until Crystal Palace FC approached him. From that point, his career progressed in leaps and bounds.
This player played for England’s under 16, 17, 19 and 21 teams between 2005 and 2010 scoring 11 goals for England during this period. He later moved to Wigan Athletic and now he plays for Chelsea.
This footballer is called VICTOR MOSES.
His story is a touching one, I share his pains. I also share his courage. He had a choice not to step into Nigeria again but he didn’t take that option. When the call to serve his fatherland came, Moses dumped England and embraced Nigeria…That is patriotism!
Today, we see a Victor Moses bringing joy to every Nigerian including those who may have inspired his parent’s death…That is Love!
On Sunday, Moses would stand for the National Anthem and pledge allegiance to a country that couldn’t defend his parents…That is faith!
Moses would deliver the “African Cup of Nations” trophy to Nigeria not minding what had happened in the past… That is forgiveness! Moses rose through bitterness and despair to the limelight of hope and courage.
He never gave up on his country. He persevered… That is purpose!
If someone like Victor Moses, despite the bitter past, never gave up on Nigeria, then why should we….! ONE NIGERIA

SECONDARY SCHOOL: The End For Many Youths!!!

Over the past few years, the high rate of illiteracy has been a
cardinal problem that flits through ‘Developing countries’, Nigeria
inclusive and this is solely because of the standard of living of such
a country.
It is very sad and pathetic to note that many of the youths that are
supposed to be leaders of tomorrow make the secondary school their
peak of learning; they stop schooling and thereby venture   into
different trades and this is partly due to poverty and partly
frustration.Dr. Uyi Uwadiae, head of the Nigerian National Office, WAEC, said that
1,540,250 candidates sat for the May/June 2011 examination and 40.55%
obtained credit and above in six subjects while 80.15% obtained credit
and above in two subjects in other words, approximately 1.2 million
Nigerians (Youths) failed. This result is really an alarming, disheartening and disappointing
turnout for a populated and highly enriched country like Nigeria.
Many have tagged securing admission in any top-notch tertiary
institution to be “as tough as securing a place in heaven”.
Using “UNILAG” as a benchmark shows that over 200,000 students applied
for the just concluded 2011/2012 Post-Utme exercise and only 6,000
students would be chosen, the burning question now is that: “what
would be the fate of the 97% that won’t be admitted”.
Economists have proven that Nigeria currently operates a mixed
economy, theoretically, but practically capitalism has thrived to the
detriment of socialism.
The gap between the rich and the poor, a major
sinister of capitalism can be traced down to the education sector
whereby there is a clear-cut segregation between public and private
institutions financially and academically.
This act financially and
psychologically causes hopelessness to individuals who are brilliant
but financially down and those who also hawk just to send themselves
to school.
According to Wikipedia, Nigeria has about 97 universities currently in
operation and this is a confirmation of Pres. Goodluck Jonathan’s
afore promise toward the creation of more universities but most of
these newly created tertiary institutions are privately owned and are
in turn very expensive for an average individual to afford.
Thus, it is glaring that the creation of universities is not the only
panacea for the “secondary school end” situation but the adequate
provision of better educational packages at the primary and secondary
school levels  (for aside physical zeal they also need mental zeal)
which will spun students to break through the storm of admission and
university barricades.

E.M.E boss, Banky W debunked reports of Wizkid’s break up from the record label.
Mr Capable said the label is currently re-negotiating the contract of Wizkid and that they are in the middle of the negotiation which they hope an agreement will be met soonest.
“Wizkid is going international and as a result we have to re-negotiate the contract he signed.
Wizkid has his own idea of how he wants to do things and he has plans for himself too.
Wizkid is still with us, there’s no problem, things will be sorted out soon” Banky W told Silverbird.

Anti-rape Female Condom

An anti-rape female condom using a different design was invented by Sonnet Ehlers, a South African woman.
Ehlers was motivated to create it while working as a blood technician with the South African Blood Transfusion Service, during which time she met many rape victims.
Ehler mentioned that she was inspired to create RAPEX (later renamed to Rape-aXe) when a patient who had been raped stated, “If only I had teeth down there,” suggesting the myth of the vagina dentata. Initially called RapeX, the name was changed in 2006 upon discovering that RAPEX is also an EU warning system against dangerous goods on the market.
The Rape-aXe is a latex sheath embedded with shafts of sharp, inward-facing barbs that would be worn by a woman in her vagina like a female condom. If an attacker were to attempt vaginal rape, his penis would enter the latex sheath and be snagged by the barbs, causing the attacker excruciating pain during withdrawal and giving the victim time to escape. The condom would remain attached to the attacker’s body when he withdrew and could only be removed surgically, which would alert hospital staff and police.
Like most condoms, Rape-aXe also usually prevents pregnancy and the transmission of HIV and sexually transmitted Infections. Rape-aXe was unveiled on August 31, 2005 in South Africa. Although media coverage at the time implied that mass production was due to begin in April 2007, the device has never been marketed to the public and it remains unclear whether the product will ever be available for purchase.
Critics have accused her of developing a medieval device to fight rape. “Yes, my device may be a medieval, but it’s for a medieval deed that has been around for decades,” she said. “I believe something’s got to be done … and this will make some men rethink before they assault a woman.

THE STALKER (Part 1)

She was bored and it was very obvious. Her mind wondered got tired and sat down to rest while her eyes took over. Not thinking about anything in particular her eyes moved from row to row, face to face. What was she looking for? Or rather who?
She smiled to herself. She knew who she was looking for but sadly she still hadn’t found him. It had been awhile she saw him. Did he know she stalked him? Was it that obvious? In a way she had made it a little obvious. She smiled again. It would be good if he had noticed, that meant he would know who she was. But that also meant he would avoid her if she creeped him out. Did she creep him out? Does she make him uncomfortable? Had she done something disturbing? Had she stared at him too long? Or had she smiled at him too long? She wasn’t even sure if she liked him liked him, she just loved seeing his face. Watching him smile, think, laugh, frown, bored, happy, excited, mischievous... His different facial expressions each one very distinct from the other. His face was like a movie, a mixture of romance, comedy and mystery that keeps you guessing, smiling and wobbly. And then his eyes....
She sighed....that love hungry, love starved sigh. Her heart beating faster now, she remembered the day he said hi to her friend and the smile he had on, with those cute dimples on each cheek begging her to come peck them. She didn’t get to talk to him but she was satisfied being just near him.
Or could it be that he was sick?
‘Oh no!!’ she thought to herself. He couldn’t be, he was a strong boy, and he wouldn’t allow himself to be sick. But then again he looked so fragile so he could be. ‘That would be so sad’ she whispered to herself.
Her mind was exhausted....
She put her head down to rest a little bit. Listening to all the chattering around her and then she heard his name being called out and her heart skipped. This wouldn’t be the first time, she had been watching him for three years now. Three long years and yet her heart still froze when she heard his name. She knew all his hangout spots, all his friends both male and female. She knew when he ate, what he likes to eat, drink. She knew his favourite thing to do, games, movies and songs he loved listening to and also his favourite blogs and websites. She had spent three years getting to know everything about him but had never said ‘hi’. Once he looked in her direction but that was it. All she had ever wanted was to say hi to him even if she didn’t have a conversation with him, she just wanted that smile followed by the ‘hi’. She raised her head and sighted a group at a distance laughing, she noticed a boy and girl sitting really close to each other talking to the rest of the people in front of them. She smiled. ‘Would she ever have that with him?’ she asked herself ‘the opportunity to sit by his side like it was normal’. She took in a deep breath taking in his perfume and her heart skipped again. Someone smelled like him. She put her head down so no one would see her smiling sheepishly to herself.
Her eyes were getting heavy now. ‘Wouldn’t this class end already?’ she thought. Slowly she felt herself dozing, drifting to her happy place where everything seemed true and all her fantasies were realities. But she was awoken by a soft tap on her shoulder, she wondered who would want to talk to her and deprive her of her time to herself. She really just wanted to rest and day dream and maybe go over what she had read for her test later on in her head.
She sighed deeply and reluctantly she raised her head.....

                                                                                                                                                                                                     ....to be continued.

Must Read For Guys -by MNGT

Once There Was A Man Who Was VERY Attracted To A Great Woman...

At first, she was just another attractive woman... but the more he got to know her, the more he began to feel attracted to her... and the more time he spent with her, the more that attraction grew into a deep emotional attachment and affection for her.
But there was one problem...
As his emotional attachment grew stronger and stronger, he also grew more and more insecure.
Why? Because he couldn't tell whether or not she felt the same way towards him.
Sometimes, she would say things like, "You are so important to me" and "I'm glad that you're in my life"... but nothing ever progressed past the "friendship" stage.
There was an occasional hug, an occasional kiss on the cheek from her... and once, she even held his hand for a long time while he talked about an emotional issue.

What's WRONG With This Picture?

You see, she just wasn't acting like a woman that was falling in love. She was acting like (cue the tragic music... ) just a friend.
And then the insecurity that he felt became a spiral that amplified itself... and the more insecure he became, the more afraid he grew of "screwing things up" by kissing her or asking her to be his girlfriend.
Plus, the more insecure he became, the less time she seemed to want to spend with him.
After spending many days and nights obsessing over this girl, the man finally arrived at the conclusion that, if she only knew how he FELT, she would feel the same way. So, he made a bold move:
He told her how he felt and confessed that he was in love and that he would do anything to be with her.
She looked at him with compassion in her eyes and said, "Thank you... I really mean that... but I don't want to mess up our friendship... you're too important to me...."

All Of This Only Confused The Man More

He didn't know how to take it... Did it mean that she really loved him too, but that she was afraid of something? Did it mean that she wasn't ready for a long term relationship? Did it mean that she didn't love him, but that she was trying to give him a hint?
Did it mean that he hadn't tried hard enough? Did it mean that he needed to put everything on the line and REALLY let her know how he felt?
He finally decided that he couldn't go on like this anymore... he had to be with her. He had to make sure that she knew just how much he wanted to be with her... so, he took a big step...
He bought her a symbolic gift and wrote her a long, long letter... again confessing his feelings.
And then, the unthinkable happened...

She Didn't Reply At All!

He called her three times a day for almost a week before reaching her.
She made an excuse about being very busy and said, "I'll try to give you a call soon, I have to go"... and hung up... but he never got a call back.
Over the following months the man tried desperately to understand what went wrong... and what happened.
THE END
Now, wasn't that a sweet story? Heartwarming, huh? I know, I should keep my day job, read my books, blog a bit, play ball :D and not take up writing romance novels... Now, let's talk about this story.

This Story Is An Actual, Real-Life LEGEND

I'm not talking about a myth or a work of fiction here... I'm talking about a story that rings true for a great majority of men. A story that is timeless and incredibly familiar. A story that resonates at a deep level because you can IDENTIFY with it.
And why does this particular story resonate and sound so familiar for most men?
It's because we've all been there in one way or another... at one time or another... and many of us have been there often in our lives.
Another thing that gives this particular story a lot of power is the powerful negative emotions that it stirs... as a result of the powerful negative experiences that it reminds us of...
Stories and situations like this one really fascinate me. They fascinate me because I see them as an opportunity to understand and solve the puzzles that they represent.
In this particular situation, I think there is a solution. And it lies in understanding one thing:

The Huge Secret That Women Know (But 99% Of Men Don't)

This secret comes down to the reality that if a woman isn't attracted to a man, all of his attempts to confess his love, convince her to like him, and court her backfire.
In other words, they not only don't work, they actually make things WORSE. The very things that a man does to try to make a woman like him, make her NOT like him. They make her run for the hills.
All those great intentions and emotional dedication actually cause the man feeling them to do things that make her go away. It sucks, and I hope that by explaining the process of how this happens, I'll help you to avoid this painful situation in the future...
By the way, if you read that story and said to yourself, "That's happened to me," then you might want to go and soak garri and READ ON
In the meantime, let me tell you about a little something that I love opening guys' eyes about...

Introducing The "INSTANT EWWW"...

Look, I'm always fascinated by the idea that we humans don't always understand the message that we're communicating to others... So often we think that just because we want to communicate a message, that others are going to naturally understand what we're trying to say.
For example, have you ever seen a guy in a foreign car that has wheels on it that cost more than the car itself... with his stereo blasting... and a muffler that somehow amplifies the raw sound of the 4-cylinder motor?
Have you ever thought to yourself, "I don't think that car is communicating the message to women that he thinks it is"? Yeah, I have too. And here's the deal:
If you do something to "let a woman know how you feel"... but she isn't ATTRACTED to you, then it is going to backfire. GUARANTEED.
It's going to trigger a feeling that I like to call the "Instant Ewww"... and it's just as powerful as the physical and emotional response of attraction. Once a woman feels it, you're done. It's over. It's like hammering a railroad spike into the coffin.
Once a woman feels the "Instant Ewww," she will start behaving differently. In short, she'll disappear.
Still have doubts? Wondering where I learned the concept of the "Instant Ewww" from?

I Learned Everything I Know About This Concept From WOMEN

I have actually heard several women use the word "Ewww" when describing how they felt about a guy that was confessing his love... Of course, these were guys that weren't loved in return.
So, what causes the "Instant Ewww?" And why would a woman feel it towards a man who was trying to be nice... a guy who was giving her a gift or telling her how he feels?
Because if you think about it from her perspective, you'll realize that the moment you do something to "confess," you have created a turning point in the relationship. Up until that point, you were harmless.
I mean, women always know how men feel. She already knew you wanted her. She knew it from the beginning. But now that you've started pursuing her and talking about how you feel, you've created a negative tension that is very uncomfortable.
You've triggered an emotion that is repulsive to women. And it does repel them.
In summary...
  • You can't "make a woman like you" or "change how she feels about you" by doing nice things for her.
  • Doing "nice" things for a woman who isn't attracted to you hurts you. It backfires. Worse, it creates the "Instant Ewww" feeling that makes it so she'll never like you.
  • Men make this mistake over and over again in life because they're doing what makes sense to them. They're doing it because they don't have an understanding of ATTRACTION.
Now, on to the GOOD news...

Two Life-Changing Solutions To These Painfully Common Problems

Solution #1: If you're in a situation where you like a particular girl, but you don't know if she likes you back... Don't buy her a big gift and write a love letter... Don't send her ten dozen roses to her work with a note that says, "From your secret admirer." Don't call her three times a day.
And above all... DON'T CONFESS YOUR LOVE for her!
If you want to know how she feels about you, kiss her (The Kiss Test). As a rule of thumb, don't get heavier than her. Use signals from her to find out how she feels... and if you don't know how to read and create those signals, then LEARN.
Asking a woman if she's interested in you in a romantic way or if you are "her type," will actually destroy the chances that she'll like you. Really.
Solution #2: Don't get into this particular situation in the first place. Avoid it entirely.
One does that by creating attraction from the beginning. One does that by understanding the dynamics of how and why women have the physical and emotional response of attraction triggered. One does that by knowing what you're doing FROM THE BEGINNING.

The Very Best Way To Learn These Skills

You don't have to be rich, handsome, or young. And you don't have to be lucky.
What you DO have to do is LEARN. It's a skill, and I honestly believe that any man can learn it if he wants to. But you're not likely to figure it out by "trial and error" because many of the keys to making women feel attraction aren't obvious at all.
In fact, many of them make no sense... and they're the LAST thing you'd do in a particular situation if you didn't know the secrets.
