Cross River's NYSC Golden Boy

Onoja Abraham John is a determined, committed and hardworking citizen of Nigeria, who hails from Olamaboro L.G.A. in Kogi State. He read International Studies and graduated with a B.Sc(Hons) in International Studies from the Ahmadu Bello University of Zaria in 2014. An enthusiastic and insightful young individual with vast experience in creative thinking, leadership, team management and interpersonal skills. He has held various leadership portfolios which include; Youth Coordinator, Keen and Care initiative (NGO), member Publicity committee (2011-2012) African Society for International Studies, A.B.U Zaria, Parliamentarian (2011-2012) National Association of Social Science Students, A.B.U Zaria, Asst. Secretary General, Model United Nations, A.B.U, Zaria, Public Relations Officer II (2012-2013) African Union Students Club, A.B.U. Zaria, Faculty Chairman, Social Sciences (2012-2013), Student Representative Council, A. B.U. Zaria, High Commissioner (2014) African Society of International Studies. His exceptional skills and qualities in the discharge of his duties in various capacities earned him several awards like; Most Influential and most political diplomat award (2014), African Society of International Studies, A.B.U. Zaria, Best Class representative (2012), African Society of International Studies, A.B.U. Zaria, Commendation letter, Office of the Vice chancellor, A.B.U. Zaria, Meritorious Service Award, Youth ministry (2014), Mountain of fire church, Kuje-Abuja, Meritorious Award (2014), High Commissioner Model United Nations, A.B.U. Zaria. Onoja Abraham John was mobilized into the NYSC for Batch B 2015 in Cross river state. He joined the lecture committee and volunteered as a repertoire, who works day and night to ensure that the daily reports were ready as at when due. This act of diligence at the Orientation camp earned him a commendation letter from the office of the state coordinator, NYSC. Onoja was posted to the Office of the Head of the Personal Staff unit of the Deputy Governor’s Office, Calabar, where he served meritoriously. He joined the SDGs CDS group, where he was elected as the Provost of the group. As a good team player, he contributed immensely to the group. His personal Community Development Service includes Polio vaccination at Immaculate conception Ikot Ansa; Lassa Fever campaing sensitization at Marian, ikot Ishie and Watt markets respectively for an astonishing 1,500 participants; Malaria sensitization and distribution of free insecticide treated nets to more than 500 beneficiaries; SDG training for students of Hopewaddell Training Institution; I.T training for students of Hopewaddell training institution; Health Outreach for all staff of the Governors and other ministries, parastatals and agencies. A feat which earned him commendation from the secretary to state government, Barr. Tina Banku Agbor, the Head of Personal Staff to the Deputy Governor. Elder Emmanuel Enene Eke, S.A Technical matters to the Governor, Arch. Eric Akpo amongst others. He also won the state Honours award as one of the few who distinguished themselves meritorious.
