Vin Diesel is no doubt having a stellar year. First he’s in Fast & Furious 6 which has grossed over $500 million at the box office, then there’s his movie ‘Riddick’ opening next month which is the third movie of the Riddick installments after ‘Pitch Black and ‘Chronicles of Riddick’ and now, the action movie hero has just signed on to star in an upcoming sci-fi action movie, ‘Soldiers of the Sun’.
Asides starring in the movie, Vin Diesel will also act as producer alongside sister Samantha Vincent through their Universal-based production company, One Race Films. The movie is reportedly set in a post-apocalyptic future as the story follows a group of soldiers searching for a fabled city of gold as they fight aliens in Mexico.
The movie will be the ‘Fast & Furious’ actor’s third Universal franchise after ‘Fast & Furious’ and ‘Riddick.’ He’s also set to star in ‘The Last Witch Hunter’ for Summit and voice the role of Groot in Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy.’
