Misunderstanding Or Not; Swiss Tenders Apology To Oprah Winfrey!

Perhaps there are some people in this world who still don’t know who Oprah Winfrey is or how much she is worth. Maybe because she is black or because they don’t watch television.
The billionaire mogul was in Switzerland to attend her long time friend, Tina Turner’s wedding when she got in to a bag shop and was told, “you will not be able to afford that”. What a shame! Coz Forbes magazine estimates Oprah’s earnings at $77 million in the year ending in June.
Could someone please explain to the world of economics why someone worth millions can’t afford a bad worth just $38,000? I believe when it comes to sales, money is the priority careless the race.
Oprah was quoted on Entertainment Tonight that a shop assistant in Zurich refused to show her a black handbag costing $38,000 because Oprah “will not be able to afford that!” Really?
Spokesperson for the Swiss Tourism Office, Daniela Baer has however tendered in an apology to the billionaire saying, “we are very sorry for what happened to her, of course, because we think all of our guests and clients should be treated respectfully, in a professional way”.
The office also went ahead to tweet another sorry message stating that, “this person acted terribly wrong”
The shop owner, Trudie Goetz told the BBC that an assistant had shown Winfrey several other items before the “misunderstanding” over the bag, which was kept behind a screen and told Blick that she was “truly sorry” because her staff are well-trained to treat customers well.
“I have to admit that the employee is Italian. Of course, she speaks English, but not as well as her mother tongue,” Goetz was quoted as saying. “It was a real misunderstanding.”
Why is Goetz still insisting on calling it a “Misunderstanding” when it’s certain, the staff had no idea of who she was dealing with neither was she to talk to any customer in that manner?
In 2005, Oprah was reportedly involved in another retain rebuff in a Hermes Store in Paris but months later, a Hermes executive appeared on her talk show to apologize for the “rigid and rude” behavior of the employee. Winfrey was said to had complimented Hermes on its handling of the incident and urged viewers to continue to buy the company’s products.
Now, that’s how a country talks to a Billionaire when a tiny department messes up!
